A Bodyboard Session with my Brothers

The surf wasn’t looking that good at the weekend, but me and my brothers were all free (which is rare nowadays), so we decided we’d head to the coast and see what was on offer.

I’ll start by introducing you too my brothers:

Matt, my oldest younger brother.

Rich, my youngest, youngest brother.

Whilst we’re doing introductions, you may as well meet their tools. Matt’s NMD bodyboard. Yeah, they’re bodyboarders, get over it. (Note to non-surfers: There’s a bodyboarder/surfer rivalry you don’t need to know about, but it exists).

I wasn’t able to surf, due to some new tattoos. To most, this would suck, but for me, it actually took the usual conflict of whether to shoot or surf out of my hands. With this all established, we headed down to the beach.

Bodyboarder Walking to Sea

Like I say, the waves weren’t great, so I took the opportunity to try some more experimental angles, at a beach I’m pretty familiar with shooting at.

Rich took the first wave, with the graffiti’d World War Two bunker in the foreground.

This was obviously very much a passion ‘project’, but it fits very neatly alongside the services I offer, so if you’d like to book me to shoot a surf session, whether it’s for a promo, a magazine, or just for your own memories, get in touch. You can check out some of my other surf photography, on my site too, if you’d like.
