Cyclocross National Chamionships 2018

5AM wake ups are difficult at the best of times.  At the peak of winter, only hours after your wife has crawled into bed after a night on the town, it should arguably be even harder, but with a day full of the country's  best cyclocross riders only 2 hours away and my bloodstream full of caffeine, it was made considerably easier.

In my 28 years on this Earth, I don't ever recollect going to Sunderland, but with Hetton Lyons Park hosting the 2018 National Cyclocross Championships, it wasn't going to take much encouragement to change that.  Despite being one lens down due to it being in for repair after I decided to play shotput with it a few weeks ago (I didn’t, actually - but I may as well have done), I was determined to use this as an opportunity to make me use the lens I did have in different ways, after all, I was desperate for the 70-200 a few months ago, and now it's the only lens I had!

Team, sponsor or individual in need of high quality sports/product photography? Just get in touch. Check out the rest of my portfolio first, if you want.

One of my favourite moments of the day. Fran's face as she approached this sign was brilliant; this shot is a shot of Fran, featuring a shot of Fran.
