Pryers Solicitors: Spot the Bike Campaign
Here are some designs that I created using photographs I shot.
It's a good example of how I can help you with any stage of the creative process; from planning/ideas to the actual photoshoot, or even designing creating a final product, ready to be used.
These images were created to promote cycling safety, so they're free to download and share.
Spot the Bike
This was the first image we released for the Spot the Bike Campaign.
It kind of epitomises what it's about; that even in average British conditions, cyclists can be hard to see.
We hope that illustrating this visually would bring it to more road users attention.Spot the Bike: The Dutch Reach Bike Lane
This was another image we shot to illustrate the Dutch Reach door opening technique.
It's shot in a bike lane, which is essential a door lane – running, as it does alongside a row of parked cars - with a bus lane on the other side. It always used to make me nervous, riding in it, and we thought it would make the perfect place to illustrate the danger of opening your car door without looking.
Incidentally, the City of York Council have now removed this door lane (credit where credit is due).
Bonus info: The door was stationary and the cyclist did not have to swerve this much - I amplified this in Photoshop - it was way safer than performing it in real life, with a bus approaching.CyclingCycleBikeCampaignDrivingPryers SolicitorsRoad SafetySpot the BikeVulnerable Road User

Spot the Bike: Mirror Mirror
I shot this from the passenger seat of the car, whilst we were driving between locations. A cyclist was filtering and I snapped this.
It illustrates really well how hard cyclists can be to spot in car mirrors.
The writing and design is to make it more eye catching, because the photo itself - set in traffic - wasn't the most aesthetically appealing.Spot the Bike: What's Round the Corner
One of the main themes of the campaign was about bringing awareness to the fact that circumstances can sometimes make it difficult to see cyclists.
Long, gradual corners have always been one of the things that worried me, when I was out on my bike. I think this does a great job of illustrating how a matter of meters - or seconds - can change what you can see; accordingly, you should drive appropriately, to enable time to react.BikeCycleCampaignCyclingDrivingPryers SolicitorsRoad SafetySpot the BikeVulnerable Road User
Spot the Bike: The Dutch Reach
The Dutch Reach isn't a technique I knew a lot about until we started this campaign. I'd hazard a guess that most people are the same. So we shot some photos and wrote an article to illustrate it.

Spot the Bike: Safe Passing
I was proud of this one. Close passing is one of the most infuriating things, for me, when I'm on my bike. 9/10 I feel like it stems from a lack of patience, rather than bad driving too - which actually makes it more annoying.
Thing is, I appreciate how most drivers, might now know how it feels. This image was to illustrate what safe passing should look like it.
Shot on a narrow road, in the centre of York, getting the timing was a mission, but we nailed it!
